What is the student/teacher ratio at Trinity Christian Academy?
Trinity offers a small class environment for our students.
Class sizes typically range between 12-18 per grade. Teacher assistants help teachers in the classrooms in Pre-K through 3rd grade.
What grades are offered at Trinity?
Trinity offers Pre-K-12th grades.
Is Trinity affiliated with a church or denomination?
Trinity is a Christ-centered, interdenominational, independent Christian school. We are not affiliated with any church or denomination. Several Christian churches, both Protestant and Catholic, are represented at the school. Our faculty are committed Christians who focus on integrating the essentials of the Christian faith within the framework of our curriculum.
How many students attend Trinity?
During the past few years, enrollment has ranged from 155 - 165.
Is Trinity accredited?
Trinity has been accredited since 2001. In 2012, Trinity completed an intensive self-study and received dual accreditation for Pre-K-12th grades with the New England Association of Schools and Colleges and the Association of Christian Schools International.
What are the teachers' qualifications and what professional development opportunities are available to them?
All of our teachers are required to be certified through the Association of Christian Schools International. Many have both ACSI and state certification. All faculty have degrees appropriate to their teaching assignments. Most importantly, Trinity requires our faculty to pursue professional development. Examples of professional development include enrollment in master level courses, conventions, workshops, and specialized training in early intervention,
reading readiness, student enrichment, and classroom management.
What curriculum does Trinity use?
The scope and sequence of our academic program ensure that the curriculum for each grade is designed to lay the foundation for success at the next level. The curriculum is evaluated on an ongoing basis for relevance and content. Trinity uses a variety of textbooks from many publishers. Curriculum Overviews are provided on our website for Elementary, Junior High, and High School.
How does Trinity measure student achievement?
Yes. Students from Kindergarten through 10th grade take the IOWA Assessment Test, a nationally normed exam. The results of the test are used to help us evaluate student achievement and mastery of the curriculum. Students in Kindergarten through 6th grade are evaluated on reading and math progress using DIBELS. Sophomores and juniors are eligible to take the PSAT exam at Trinity. Upperclassmen may be eligible to take Advanced Placement Exams.
Trinity’s foreign language students also participate in the National French and Latin exams.
Will my child be able to attend Trinity if he/she has any learning difficulties?
Trinity is committed to ensuring academic success for each student. For this reason, all student applicants will take an assessment test to evaluate academic readiness. Trinity also requires copies of previous school records, standardized testing, and IEP (if applicable) to help us determine whether or not Trinity will be able to appropriately meet the academic and/or emotional needs of the student.
How well does Trinity prepare students?
Trinity Christian Academy's college acceptance rate is nearly 100 percent. Trinity's students are accepted to a variety of private and state colleges and universities as well as specialized institutions such as Massachusetts Maritime Academy. Several of our alumni have been awarded academic scholarships. Several of our alumni also proudly serve in the U.S. Military.
What extracurricular activities and sports are offered at Trinity?
On a weekly basis, students enjoy the opportunity to participate in music, art, physical education, foreign language (elementary-high school), chapel, computer lab, and library class. Trinity offers opportunities for students to participate in regional events including Science Fair, Speech Meet, Music Festival, Math Olympics, and Leadership Conferences. Seventh-grade students explore the National Seashore during a four-day trip; Eighth-grade students travel to Washington, D.C. for one week and
high school students have the biannual opportunity to travel to Europe for one week.
Trinity is a member school with MIAA. Membership with MIAA provides our students with the opportunity to play competitive sports with other schools. Depending on student interest, students in grades 5-12 have the opportunity to participate in soccer, cross country, track, and basketball. Intramural and club activities have also included golf and volleyball.
Trinity is committed to developing strong Christian leaders. Each high school student serves at least 100 community service hours prior to graduation. High school students are also encouraged to participate in extracurricular activities including student council, the Upper-Level praise and worship group, drama club, yearbook, various clubs, and sports.
Do Trinity students wear uniforms?
Yes, our students wear uniforms that are ordered through Donnelly's School Apparel.
Does Trinity provide financial aid?
Financial aid is available for families who qualify for tuition assistance. All financial aid funds are provided through the generosity of faithful donors. Please review our Financial Aid Application Process for more information.
What time does school begin and end each day?
School begins at 8:20 AM for ALL grades. The school day ends at 2:40 PM for Pre-K-6th Grades and 3:00 PM for Upper Level, Grades 7-12.
Does Trinity offer an after school program?
Yes, we do!
A Pre-K - 6th Grade After School Extended Day Progam is available from 3:00 to 6:00 for a fee.
A complimentary After-School Study Program (Grades 7-12) is also available from 3:00 - 4:00 PM.
Parents need to sign up for their children for these services and space is limited.
