2023-2024 TCA Student Drop-off and Pick-up

Dear TCA Families,

As I'm sure you are aware, the new school year is right around the corner. As we announced back in June, the drop-off and pick-up procedures for the upcoming school year are going to be a little more challenging and requiring a little more patience as we grow into this new routine. With the Reach Church parking lot out of service for us this year, we need to navigate all our families through the main parking lot of TCA each morning and afternoon. To make this work, we need everyone on the same page and following the system we have established.

Every family will be issued a set of two, color-coded cards with a number that identifies your child. Please don't lose this and please don't assume you don't need it after a week or two of school. Your cars change and our parking lot staff rotates as well. You will need it every day for student pick-up.

This year we will have to drop-off and pick-up all students in two separate groups (upper school and lower school). Please pay careful attention to the timeframe of your pick-up and drop-off and when you pull in front of the school, please pull all the way forward. Also, because of the tight windows of time and the need to keep things moving, we remind all parents NOT to get out of their vehicles or utilize the time to have conversations with school staff. We'd be happy to talk with you at another time.

DROP-OFF

For Upper School students (all students in grades 6 - 12) school drop off will be from 7:35 am until 7:55 am. The bell will ring at 7:55 and at that time, school will begin for all students in the upper school. Upper school students arriving after 7:55 am will be considered late.
If your family also has a lower school student, parents with both upper and lower school students may drop them off during this timeframe. Elementary students will be supervised while waiting in the Activity Center until they are dismissed to their classrooms at 7:55 am. All students dropped off in this timeframe (including Pre-K and K) will enter the building through the main, front door.

Lower School drop off will begin starting at 7:55 am and continue until 8:10 am. Students in grades 1 - 5 will enter through the main, front door while all students in Pre-K and Kindergarten will be dropped off at the Pre-K/Kindergarten door closest to Mary Dunn Road.

PLEASE NOTE: IN ORDER FOR A LOWER SCHOOL STUDENT TO BE DROPPED OFF PRIOR TO 7:55 AM, YOU MUST HAVE AN UPPER SCHOOL SIBLING BEING DROPPED OFF AT THE SAME TIME.
IF YOU ARRIVE BEFORE YOUR CHILD'S DROP-OFF OR DISMISSAL TIME, YOU WILL BE REQUIRED TO PARK AND WAIT IN THE PARKING LOT.

PICK-UP

Upper School pick-up will happen from 2:50 to 3:05 pm for all junior high and high school students (grades 6 - 12). If the student being picked up has a sibling in the lower school, that student will also be dismissed along with their older sibling.

Lower School pick-up will happen from 3:05 until 3:20 pm. Elementary students will be dismissed out of the main front door and Pre-K and Kindergarten students will be dismissed from their own door around the side of the building closest to Mary Dunn Road.

HALF DAYS

The first day of school (and at several points throughout the school year) we will have a half day of school. During half days, Upper School students (and their lower school siblings) will be dismissed starting at 11:40 am and Lower School students will be dismissed starting at 11:55 am.

I know this may sound confusing right now, but we will get into the swing of things after a few days of working through it.

The school is looking great and we are excited to welcome back your children for an amazing school year.

Sincerely,

Dr. Bruce Hanlon
